Victory clinches #3 seed for Harford in regional tournament

  • The Short Story: The Harford women's lacrosse dominated the first half on their way to a comfortable conference win that ensures Harford will go into the regional tournament as the #3 seed. The Fighting Owls celebrated sophomore day before the game to honor their three players who will be moving on after this year in Karlie Abbott, Sierra Donovan and Olivia Dowling. Harford also celebrated the awarding of the Bruce Hart Memorial Scholarship to Nina Urban for excellence both on and off the field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Fighting Owls dominated the game from the first whistle, scoring the first 13 goals of the game including a halftime score of 11-0.
  • Harford allowed the Cougars to score three in the second half, but answered back with the last four goals of the game to close out the game with ease.
  • Courtney Poole led the way once again with four goals and one assist while Emily Stambaugh scored a hat trick for the first time this season.
  • Nina Urban, Mackenzie Wills, Julianna Butta abd Sierra Donovan all tallied two goals each with Kelsie Davis adding a goal and two assists.
  • Cidney Gray returned from an injury to score for the sixth time in the year as the Fighting Owls were thrilled to have back their star defender.
  • Erica Wright was barely troubled in the game, but was able to come up with four saves.
  • Harford scored on 18 of their 21 shots on goal as their shooting accuracy in the game was phenomenal.
