Harford Holds On Against Catonsville 3-2

  • The Short Story: The Fighting Owls controlled the game early and jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first half and was able to hold on late for a big conference victory.

 HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Fighting Owls came out of the gates looking strong and broke through early as Adam Toland latched onto an Eder Arcanjo long ball and buried it just 10 minutes into the game.
  • It took just five minutes for Harford to double their lead as Henrique Castilho hit a beautiful left footed free kick into the box that the prolific Antonio Savi finished from close range.
  • After Catonsville pulled a goal back, it was Savi again who responded six minutes later from a long ball by Dougie McIndoe as Savi is now tied for third in the nation with 16 goals this season.
  • The second half turned into a grind as both teams struggled to get good chances on net, but Michael Nelson made six saves in the game as Harford held on for a critical 3-2 win.

UP NEXT
  • Harford will head out for another conference road game on Tuesday, September 26 at 4 PM as they take on Chesapeake. 
  • The Skipjacks are 2-5 this season and 1-4 in the conference with a 1-0 win against Cecil and losses to Anne Arundel, Catonsville, Prince George's and Howard.
