  • The Short Story: The Fighting Owls started out the new year with a comfortable 99-63 victory on the back of Joy Morton's first career triple-double and Janiece Loney scoring a career high 20 points.

 HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Fighting Owls went up against a Cougars squad that had just five players dressed, one of which played the entire second half with four fouls.
  • Joy Morton had arguably her best performance in a blue jersey as she completed her first career triple-double thanks to a 10th rebound in the closing seconds of the game. Her 11 assists and 10 rebounds are both season highs while playing just 23 minutes off the bench.
  • Janiece Loney made her first three shots from long range and went six of nine from behind the arc for a career high 20 points; her previous best was eight against Brookdale on November 7.
  • Adrienne Jones dropped 15 points while Destinee McQueen earned a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
