Frederick, Md. – The Harford Fighting Owls saw their 2018 season end at the hands of #18 Frederick on Friday, falling to the Cougars 5-0 in the Region XX Division I Tournament.
Harford's defense would keep Frederick's attack at bay for the first 20 minutes. Cougars' forward Vagner Marques-Rodriguez finally broke the goalless drought in the 23' after he tucked home a chance from Kenny Simms and Carlos Guevera. Frederick would string together three additional goals over the next 22 minutes for a 4-0 lead at the half.
The Fighting Owls' looked better over the final 45 minutes, holding the Cougars potent offense to just one goal in the second half. In the end Frederick proved to be too much to overcome on the evening.
With the loss, Harford ends its season with a record of 4-13-1.
