Bohli Bags Three as Harford Advances

Catonsville, Md. – The No. 1 seed Harford Fighting Owls swatted aside the Frederick Cougars on Thursday, downing their Md Juco conference rivals 4-1 in the Region XX D1 semi-finals in Catonsville.

Rachel Bohli's hat-trick inside 25 minutes devastated the No. 4 Cougars, who came into the contest riding a five-game win streak. Frederick struck for their only score shortly after, but Sommer Law's second half goal from a Kasie Lambert free kick would put the Fighting Owls back up by three and punch Harford's ticket to the tournament finals.

Despite having to make just one save, sophomore goalie Crystal Kline played a major role in both keeping possession and distributing the ball to the Harford midfield throughout the game.

The Fighting Owls' defense would give Frederick fits all afternoon, with the likes of Samantha DeCarlo, Alecia Rotunno, Natalie Berkey and Eleni Serevetas limiting the Cougars to a measly three shots.

Harford's win bumps them up to a 12-2 record, while Frederick sees their season come to an end at 6-4.

Harford will have less than 48 hours to prepare for the Region XX D1 championship game, where they will take on the No. 2 Montgomery Raptors.

The Raptors claimed the regular season conference title thanks to the cancellation of Frederick and Harford's regular season match. However, Harford handed Montgomery their only defeat during conference play in a 2-1 affair back on September 11.
