Harford Battles Past Union County, 88-71

Cranford, N.J.Shawkina Mulazim's triple-double powered the Fighting Owls past the Union County Owls 88-71, Thursday night in The Garden State.

Harford was forced to deal with several starters in foul trouble throughout the night, relying on Janiece Loney's 21 points (5-of-7 from three) off the bench to carry them through early stretches of the game.

Trailing 17-10 after the opening 10 minutes, Union would lock down on defense while going on an 10-5 run to come within two points of the lead. Harford answered back with a 16-6 run of their own over the last three and a half minutes to enter the break ahead 38-26.

Mulazim began to work her magic from there, driving to the basket repeatedly over the next two quarters. Union County proved to have no answer, sending the freshman guard to the line countless times in the final 20 minutes to hand Harford the victory.
