Softball Splits at Delaware Tech

  • The Short Story: The Fighting Owls split a pair of one sided games as the two teams exchanged games of offensive outbursts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME 1
  • The Fighting Owls took an early lead in the first as Emily Bowler hit an RBI single to score Alexis Valentine to take a 1-0 lead.
  • Delaware Tech scored two runs in the second to take the lead, but E. Bowler crushed a two run home run to center field to regain the Harford lead.
  • Delaware Tech exploded for nine runs in the third inning, but Harford clawed back in the top of the fourth on RBI doubles by Olivia Gallimore and Valentine.
  • That would be the last of the Harford scoring as Del Tech added a three run homer in the bottom of the fourth which sealed the run rule shortened game.
GAME 2
  • The night cap was a wild affair of runs as Delaware Tech scored in the first inning to take the early lead.
  • Alexis Mack hit a solo home run to center field to tie the game and Chloe Moyer gave Harford the lead on an RBI single.
  • Harford got the bats going again in the third with an Olivia Gallimore RBI single with the Fighting Owls adding a couple more runs in the fourth inning on a bases loaded walk and a wild pitch.
  • The Fighting Owls piled on in the top of the fifth with nine runs including a three home run by Emily Bowler to make it a commanding 15-2 lead.
  • Delaware Tech rallied for four runs in the bottom of the fifth, but it wasn't enough to prevent the game from ending early from the mercy rule.

  • Harford will return home to face Niagara County on Monday, April 2 at 3 PM.
