Fighting Owls Blast Dragons Again

  • The Short Story: The Fighting Owls used a familiar formula for success against Howard as a close first half was followed by a dominating second half for Harford as their incredible season continues.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Howard scored four of the first five goals of the game as the first 10 minutes of the game saw the visiting Dragons controlling possession.
  • Harford started to fight back as Erin Dean made a nice long range shot followed closely by Bethany Bishop scoring to cut into Howard's lead.
  • The Dragons responded with a couple more goals to get ahead 6-4, but the Fighting Owls scored the last three of the first half with Nina Urban, Courtney Poole and Dean netting to give Harford the halftime lead.
  • Out of the break it was all Harford as Urban and Rachel Wilson each scored four second half goals while Bethany Bishop loaded up six second half points with four assists and two goals.
  • Harford's defense tightened things up and played a fantastic second half as Cidney Gray continued her great season with four groundballs and four caused turnovers.
  • Mackenzie Wills grabbed a season high nine draw controls and four ground balls and Urban added six draw controls to the cause.
  • Brooke Siebert made a career high 14 saves in her best performance of the season in goal.
UP NEXT
  • Harford will travel to Frederick for another conference match up on Thursday, April 12 at 5 PM.
  • The Cougars are 2-6 on the season and 1-4 in conference play including a 26-1 loss at Harford on April 6.
