Softball Season Comes To An End in South Carolina

  • The Short Story: Harford's softball season has come to an end after the Fighting Owls' late comeback against their South Carolina based foes ultimately fell short.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Harford struggled through the first four innings, giving up a combined 15 runs with the lone bright spot coming from an Olivia Gallimore two run home run in the bottom of the third.
  • With Harford needing to score runs to extend the game, the Fighting Owls had one of their best innings to date with seven runs in the bottom of the fifth.
  • RBI singles by Alexis Mack and Chloe Moyer along with a two RBI double by Caroline Frank highlighted the big inning for Harford as they closed the gap to 15-9.
  • Sadly for the ladies in blue, Salkehatchie came back in the top of the sixth to score three more runs and the Fighting Owls could not answer in the bottom of the sixth as the game and season was ended for Harford.
  • Emily Bowler started in her final game for the Fighting Owls and gave up just six earned runs in four innings while freshman Amanda Sullivan pitched the final two innings of the contest.
UP NEXT
  • Harford will be forced to say goodbye to a historic sophomore class and will now look to reload the roster for the 2019 season.
