Georgetown, Del. – Delaware Tech scored nine runs in the third inning, propelling themselves to a 16-9 defeat of Harford on Monday afternoon.
Harford went ahead 3-2 in the top of the third thanks to an RBI-double from
Amanda Sullivan and a sac fly off the bat of
Lexi Buchanan. The Roadrunners response was swift, plating the aforementioned nine runs to go up 11-3.
The Fighting Owls did not go away quietly. After trading runs the Del Tech in the fourth, Harford's offense exploded for five runs in the next inning, highlighted by a near grand slam by catcher
Erica James. Unfortunately, Del Tech once again answered the call, driving home four runs of their own to keep Harford winless.
Del Tech improves to 3-0 on the year, while Harford falls to 0-14.
Game Notes
- Including her three RBI-triple, James finished 3-for-3 at the plate.
- Buchanan tallied two hits on the afternoon, including one double.
- Jessica Miller also collected two hits, while Tabytha Croswell drove in two runs.
