Bel Air, Md. – With a spot in the NJCAA Division I National Championship up for grabs, Harford will host Monroe College in the District C Championship game, Friday evening inside the APGFCU Arena.
Both teams can make history with a win. For Harford, a victory would mark the first time in the modern era of the program that they will have claimed back-to-back district titles. On the other side, Monroe is looking for their second district crown in three years.

Series History
- The Fighting Owls and Mustangs clashed on two separate occasions this season. Their first meeting would come in Harford's home opener on Nov. 7. The Fighting Owls led for the entire contest and took away an 88-64 victory over the Mustangs.
- Their second meeting came as part of the Title IX D.C. Classic back on December 28. Harford struggled to find their shot early and trailed 32-28 at the half. The Fighting Owls turned things back in their favor after the break, outscoring the Mustangs 40-29 over the game's final 20 minutes to earn the win.
- Monroe's last victory over Harford was back in 2017, when they defeated the Fighting Owls 68-57 in the District Championship
Fighting Owls at a Glance
- Head Coach Mike Seney was recently awarded his fifth straight Maryland JUCO Conference Women's Basketball Coach of the Year award. So far this season, Seney led Harford to a program record 30 wins, sixth consecutive Region 20 title, and their fifth Maryland JUCO Conference championship in a row.
- To the surprise of no one, forward Dahnye Redd was named All-Conference First Team and the Maryland JUCO Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Year. The redshirt-sophomore phenom leads the NJCAA Div. I players in rebounding (14.0 rpg.) and is one of the nation's top scores as well (22.2 ppg.).
- Sophomores Jewel Porter, Elaija DeMeza and Janiece Loney were also recently awarded for their contributions this season. Loney was named Second Team All-Conference, while Porter and DeMeza were tabbed as honorable mentions.
- Harford's offense ranks second amongst all NJCAA Div. I programs in scoring (93.2 ppg.).
- The Fighting Owls defense has been excellent as well. The ladies in blue rank third in the NJCAA in steals (17.6 spg.) while giving up the second-fewest points per game (49.7).
Mustangs at a Glance
- Dana Warner is in his first season at the helm for Monroe. He is no stranger to the program, however, having worked as an assistant coach for the Mustangs men's basketball team over the last 10 seasons.
- Monroe is currently 20-8 on the year but are 2-2 in their last four games. Their last two losses came against Union County and Nassau, both of which Harford defeated this season.
- Aneisha Lyons leads all Mustangs with 13.0 points per game and 7.0 rebounds. She is flanked by Phyness Baldwin, who tops Monroe in assists (4.0 apg) and steals (4.0) while chipping in 10.7 points per contest.
- Center Devin Adams has been effective in the paint this season and led the Mustangs with 19 points in their near upset of Harford back on Dec. 28.
- As a team, Monroe is scoring 69.5 points per game while holding opponents to 52.3 points per game.
