Bel Air, Md. – No. 18 Harford's witnessed its season come to an end on Saturday, as the Fighting Owls fell on the wrong side of an 8-0 shutout to Spartanburg Methodist College Pioneers in an elimination game during this weekend's Eastern District Championship.
The Pioneers become just the second team this season to hold the Fighting Owls scoreless. Harford managed to collect just five hits, all of which came as singles, and two walks.
Matthew Shilling led the way by collecting two base knocks.

Marty Neal (6.2 IP, 2 ER) struck out eight Pioneers and performed well in defeat. The freshman finishes the year with a 7-3 mark.
The Fighting Owls end 2019 with a 46-9 record. SMC improves to 32-17.
