SUMTER, S.C – The Fighting Owls suffered their first defeat this season, dropping a 7-4 decision to the USC Sumter Fire Ants on Sunday.
Harford took an early 3-0 lead in the second, but Sumter scored seven of the game's next eight runs to earn the win.
Ajay Sczepkowski led the Fighting Owls with two RBI, while Ty Kwaitkoski and
Hunter Blair recorded two hits each.
Part two of Sunday's doubleheader in South Carolina was rained out after three innings of play.
Harford moves to 2-1 on the season after the loss, while Sumter improves to 2-6.
