BEL AIR, Md. – Harford women's basketball opened up its 2021-22 season on Tuesday evening, falling 68-42 to Penn State York inside the APGFCU Arena.
In what was Harford's first game since February 2019, De'janey Hayes led the Fighting Owls with 16 points.
Jada Bright matched her seven points with seven boards on the evening.
Harford starts the year 0-1.
Turning Point
The Fighting Owls struggled from the field early, knocking down just five of their 36 attempts over the opening 20 minutes. Penn State went 13-for-33 during this stretch and took a 29-12 lead going into the break. Harford proved to be more efficient during the final two quarters, but Penn State's lead proved to be insurmountable.
