TYLER, Tx. - The Figthting Owls were eliminated from the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer National Championship on Tuesday, falling 4-0 to the No. 8 Daytona State Falcons.
Harford managed to stagnate the Falcon offense for the first 24 minutes of the contest, allowing just one shot over this time. Daytona State finally broke through in the 25th to take a 1-0 lead, then doubled its advantage right before the half.
The Fighting Owls were solid for the opening ten minutes of the second half, but the Falcons found their way into the back of the net twice in less than 20 seconds to go ahead 4-0 in the 55th. Daytona State's defense locked down Harford's offense in the final 35 minutes, holding the Fighting Owls to zero shots.
Harford season ends with the Fighting Owls holding a 16-6 record, the highest amount of wins in program history and its best win percentage since 2011.
