LA PLATA, Md. – The Harford men's soccer team picked up its second shutout of the season, defeating the Southern Maryland Hawks, 8-0.

Harford controlled the game for the full 90 minutes, including three times in the opening 15 minutes. Kye Williams scored less than a minute into the game, then Auston Pellegrino doubled the lead six minutes later. Pellegrino picked up an assist on the third goal, scored by Dan Tridone.

A pair of penalty kicks in the 20' and 43' sent the Fighting Owls into the half with a 5-0 lead. The men in blue came out of the break with their six goal of the day, as Michael Gisriel tucked home a ball from Dan Tridone.

Two more late scores in the 62' and 68' put the final touches on a strong offensive showing for the Fighting Owls.

The Harford defense held the Hawks to just six shots on the afternoon. Ben Cook led the Fighting Owls between the pipes with six saves.

With the win, Harford moves to 2-1 (1-1 MD JUCO).
