LA PLATA, Md. - Harford turned in a complete effort in the the second half of its doubleheader, soundly defeating the College of Southern Maryland (CSM) Hawks, 10-1.
The Fighting Owl pitching staff turned in a masterful performance, allowing just one hit hit and one run over seven innings.
Jeremy Lapp held the Hawks hitless and led Harford with five strikeouts over three innings to come away with the win.
Nick Collier (4 K's) blanked CSM over the next two innings, then
Austin Rohlfing sealed the deal with five punch outs over the final two.
The Harford lineup had itself a day as well, turning in three home runs and five doubles on the day. Freshman outfielder
Tyler Blittersdorf led the charge with three hits, finishing just a triple short of the cycle.
Andrew Sicinski topped everyone with three RBI thanks to a homer in the fourth, while
Reyce Curnane (two RBI) and
Zach Smith (two RBI) doubled and homered respectively to support the cause.
Harford is now 18-7-1 (14-4 MD JUCO) after the sweep.
