ROCKVILLE, Md. - The Harford men's soccer team saw its season come to a close on Friday, falling 4-1 to the Montgomery Raptors in the semifinals of the Region 20 Division I Men's Soccer tournament.
Montgomery dominated the early proceedings, as forward Joseph Kitengie scored back-to-back goals inside of seven minutes. The Fighting Owls took more chances in the first (15-6) but went scoreless in the opening half.
The Raptors struck quickly to start the second, capitalizing on a penalty kick for a 3-0 lead. Harford finally punched through a chance in the 68th minute after
Josh Cook fired a ball into the bottom left corner of the net.
Harford had its chances in the final 32 minutes, but Montgomery did not break and eventually put the game to bed in the 88th minute with a tap in off a save.
The Fighting Owls finish the year 6-5.
