VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - After a disappointing game one loss to Bryant & Stratton, the Fighting Owls bounced back with a 16-5 mercy rule victory over the Bobcats in game two on Thursday afternoon.
Harford did most of its work in the first, scoring 11 runs on three hits, three errors and seven walks. Highlighting the big inning was a three-run blast by
Jeremiah Guzman and a pair of two-run blunders by the Bobcats. The Fighting Owls padded their lead in the middle innnings with a couple of RBI-doubles from Andrew Sicisnki and Guzman.
A late push from the Bobcats did not ruin
Connor Blantz's day on the mound, as the veteran starter went three innings within giving up a hit and struck out seven for his second win of the year.
Harford is now 4-1 on the season.
