BEL AIR, Md. - The Fighting Owls took on the Hudson Valley Vikings for the first time in program history, with Harford scooping up an 11-8 win over its opposition.
Cancellations to their Saturday and Sunday doubleheaders forced the Fighting Owls to pick up a game with the Vikings on just 24 hours notice. Both offenses came out the gate early and were locked in a 6-6 stalemate after the fourth.
The Fighting Owls struggled on defense throughout in the contest, committing six errors for the game. However, Hudson Valley would also make a pair of costly errors in the sixth to hand Harford the lead. A two-run slam by
Tyler Blittersdorf put the Fighting Owls up for good in the seventh, as
Nate Robison blanked the Vikings over the final two innings to earn the save and Harford the win.
The Fighting Owls move to 10-2 on the season after Friday.
