BEL AIR, Md. - Harford returned to the diamond for the first time in nine days, dropping a pair of games to the Anne Arundel Riverhawks on Monday.
Game 1: Anne Arundel 2 - Harford 0
Jess Bouthet's single up the middle in the fourth was the only hit for the Fighting Owls in a game one shutout loss.
Lena Wondolowski's walk in the fifth provided Harford its second and final baserunner of the game.
Mackenzie Burton (1-2) fought hard from the circle and kept Anne Arundel at bay, allowing just two runs on four hits while striking out a pair.
Game 2: Anne Arundel 6 - Harford 2
Harford had a better start in game two, taking an early 2-0 lead on an RBI-single and a throwing error on the catcher after a double steal. Both runs were contributed by sophomore outfielder
Kaitlyn Delaney. Anne Arundel cut the deficit in half in the fourth, then scored five runs over the final two innings to take the win.
Delaney led the team in hits for the game with two, while four additional Fighting Owls chipped in one base knock each.
Alyssa McLaughlin (1-2) pitched all seven innings and was saddled with the loss.
