BEL AIR, Md. - Eight Fighting Owls combined for 12 extra base hits, powering Harford past the Mercer County Vikings for a 15-9 victory.
Trey Cruz headlined the effort on offense, barreling through the Mercer County pitching staff with three doubles and four RBI.
Lenny Montesano also finished with three hits, including a two-run home run in the third.Â
Jeremiah Guzman extended his doubles streak to six games by adding two more to his collection. As of Saturday evening, Guzman leads all NJCAA DI hitters with a .514Â batting average.
Mercer County was able to hang with Harford in the early stages, tying the game at 5-5 with a four-run third. Montesano's aforementioned homer returned the lead to the Fighting Owls, who would then go on to outscore the Vikings 8-4 over the final four innings in order to secure thier 10th consecutive victory.Â
Harford is now 16-2 on the year.
