BEL AIR, Md. - Mackenzie Burton tossed five scoreless innings, hurling Harford to a 12-0 victory over the CCBC-Catonsville Cardinals on Saturday afternoon.
Burton (1-1) allowed just two hits and struck out eight from the circle. She faced the minimum three times and threw just 68 pitches in five innings.
Harford  had a monster day at the dish as well, with five Fighting Owls tallying at least two hits. Leading the parliament was
Emily Curry with three hits, while
Jess Bouthet went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double. Eight of Harford's 12 runs in game one of the doubleheader came in the fourth inning, pushing the Fighting Owls to a mercy rule win over the Cardinals.
Harford is now 3-4 (1-0 MD JUCO).
