Harford Completes Comeback to Defeat Delaware Tech

GEORGETOWN, Del. - The Fighting Owls scored three runs in the ninth inning, then held off NJCAA DII No. 4 Delaware Tech to earn a 5-3 victory on the road Thursday.

Zack Oswald (ND) shut down Delaware Tech's offense for the most part, allowing just three runs on four hits while striking out three. His final strikeout of the day came with the bases loaded and two outs in the fifth to kill a Delaware Tech rally. Unfortunately, the Pitt commit gave up a two-run home run in the sixth before retiring the side.

Frank Siano (2-1) took the ball over the next two innings and kept the Fighting Owls within striking distance until the ninth. Down to its final three outs, Harford loaded the bases for Blake Mayberry to start the final frame. The Fighting Owl infielder flied out to deep right field to score Jay Kalieta. Up next was Andrew Sicinski, who ripped an 0-2 pitch into left that scored one and eventually a second on an error to plant Harford ahead 5-3.

Joe Grassi (S, 1) was called out of the bullpen to finish off Delaware Tech in the bottom ninth. Tech threatened with runners on the corners and two outs, but Grassi sent them packing via punch out to end the game.

Harford stands at 33-6 with the win.
