BEL AIR, Md. - In its first home contest in over two years, the Figthing Owls dominated the Monroe Tribunes 21-7 on Saturday afternoon.
An early goal for Monroe in the first proved to be its only lead of the day, as
Claire Ashburn and
Cassidy Poole quickly scored to rip the lead away. The two combined for 10 of Harford's goals for the day while also earning assists on two more.
Down 11-3 entering the second, Monroe managed to hold off the running clock with another goal to start the quarter. It's the closest the Tribunes got to the lead, as Harford found the back of the net six times before the half compared to Monroe's one for a 17-5 lead at the half. The break did not do the Tribunes much good, with the Fighting Owls doubling up (4-2) Monroe over the final two quarters.
The Fighting Owls improve to 3-1 after the victory.
