BEL AIR, Md. – On the road for their first game day of the 2022 season, the Fighting Owls took down the Potomac State Catamounts 3-0 in Region 20 play.
Remi Rollins opened up the scoring in the 44th minute on an assist by
Jamie Moyer that sent her 1v1 with the Catamount keeper. Less than a minute later, Moyer then found the back of the net herself off an assist from Rollins to send Harford into halftime up two goals to none. Sophomore keeper
Becky Brittell managed a clean sheet for the first 45 minutes.
The Fighting Owls were able to add to their lead early into the second half on another great finish from Rollins.
Sarah Barnes delivered a perfectly weighted long ball in behind for freshman
Skye Dixon to beat the Potomac defense with her speed. Dixon then found Rollins waiting on the back post off a dissecting cross to bring the scoring to a close.
Evie Heinlein along with the Harford defense continued to hold back the Catamount front line, with Heinlein turning away three shots through the half to earn her first collegiate shutout.
The Fighting Owls stand at 1-0 (0-0 MD JUCO) after the victory.
