BEAVER COUNTY, PA - The Fighting Owls women's basketball team secured its first win of the season on the road against the Community Colleg of Beaver County. Harford would dominate the scoring in 3 of 4 periods throughout the contest, and pull away with a 69-47 victory in the end.
The first quarter saw the Fighting Owls jump to a 5 point lead before gaining momentum in the second period to go up 35-18 at half. The third period would see a strong response from the Titans outscoring Harford 17-11, but the Fighting Owls would regain control quickly to seal the contest.
Three players from Harford recorded double-doubles in the contest.
Skye Best would grab 21 points and 13 rebounds, shooting 9-21 from the floor.
Rakayla Ramcharran would contribute 13 points and 13 rebounds, going 4-9 from the floor and 5-5 from the free throw line.
Marie Bangoura would add 11 points and 15 rebounds to the win, shooting 4-7 and sinking 3 of 4 attempts from free throws.
Miranda Turner would contribute three 3-pointers and 14 points to the team effort.Â
Overall the team shot 33% from the floor, and made 12 of 14 free throws. Next, they travel to conference opponent Allegany for their second matchup of 2023.
