BEL AIR, MD – The Fighting Owls swept their first conference opponent on Tuesday when they defeated the Riverhawks of Anne Arundel at home.

Game one was a back and forth battle for control. The Riverhawks would tally runs in their first three innings and the Fighting Owls would reciprocate, beginning with two solo home runs by
Brody Levin and
Trey Cruz in the first inning. In the top of the second Anne Arundel would score 3 on a passed ball, a wild pitch, and an RBI single. Harford would score three of their own in the bottom of the inning on a
Charlie Canapp double, a single by
Robert Buckley, and an error on a stolen base. Buckley would make another statement in the fourth with a solo homerun to bring the game within one. The Fighting Owls managed to pull away in the bottom of the fifth after runs scored on a balk, a single, and a wild pitch.

Four Fighting Owls would see the mound in game one after the starter
Rueben Livingston was relieved in the second inning.
Paul Glenchur would go on to claim the win after going three-and-a-third innings with no hits and no runs.

In game two,
Joey Pagano would start off the scoring for Harford with a 3 RBI double to center field. He would end the day with one hit, two runs, and three RBI's. In the bottom of the third,
Robert Buckley would contribute a 2-RBI single to right field and put the Fighting Owls up 9-2. The Riverhawks would chase down the lead in the fourth with 5 runs of their own, but ultimately Harford would hold on to take the win.

Colton Adams earned the second win of the day for Harford after going three innings with 2 runs on 2 hits and three strikeouts.
Griffin Smallwood would enter the game for the final three innings and put on a show, allowing only one hit and pocketing seven strikeouts on ten batters faced.

Harford hosts mercer on Thursday for the third series of their home stand. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM at the Harford Sports Complex.
