Hyman Stuns CCBC in Final Seconds

BEL AIR, MD - In what will most likely be remembered as the most thrilling ending to a game this season, the Fighting Owls defeated the CCBC Essex Knights with just :08 seconds remaining in the contest.

The two sides were gridlocked for 89 minutes at 0-0, trading blows although Harford would find more significant chances. The Fighting Owls would outshoot Essex 20-11 (11-5 on frame) and earn 8 corners to the Knight's 1. The second half was especially one sided for Harford, but an opportunity to beat the Essex keeper would not come until the final minute of the game.

The game clock would be stopped due to an injury with :37 seconds remaining in the contest. The Fighting Owls would resume play with a goal kick and nearly a full field to cover. Two long balls found Madison Passwater out wide in the Essex half, just outside the 18. She would work to create space and send a ball across the middle only for an Essex defender to intercept and attempt to clear. However, the clearance fell to Sophomore Carsyn Hyman around 30 yards from goal. Her first touch would set herself up for a half-volley, and her second woudl send the ball sailing over the keeper's outstretched hands and into the back of the net as the 10-second countdown sounded on the PA system. The Harford bench erupted, and the Fighting Owls walked off the field with a well-deserved win.

Harford remains unbeated in their conference (2-0-1) and heads to Richard Bland next for a non-region contest.
