COLUMBIA, MD - Anna Sexton drove in five runs on two hits to lead the Fighting Owls past Howard in game one of their conference double header on Tuesday. Lanie Levee would hero the second contest of the game with two home runs and four RBI and help to seal the sixth series sweep of the season for Harford. The Fighting Owls currently stand at 16-6 on the season.
Game One
The Fighting Owls would find the lead in the fourth inning after a Lanie Levee single scored two runs to put Harford up 2-1. In the top of the fifth, the Fighting Owls would score five runs on five hits with
Tonya Marks,
Anna Sexton, and
Brooke Hasegawa contributing singles. Sexton started on the mound for Harford going six innings and allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out five and walking four.Â
Game Two
Harford would tally the first run of the game in the first inning on an RBI triple from
Arianna Blum.
Alexia Gresko would add a run with a triple of her own in the second inning to go up 2-0. Two more runs would score in the third inning to extend the lead to 4-0, punctuated by a solo shot by Levee to left field. She would strike again in the seventh inning with another solo home run to left field, and Harford would seal the game 10-3.
Brianna Lunenfeld manned the circle for Harford, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out seven and walking three.
