BEL AIR, MD - Harford Softball was eliminated from the postseason this weekend after losing a best-of-three series play-in game to the Monroe Mustangs. Earlier in the season they lost both games of their regular season doubleheader to Monroe by just one run.
As a team the Fighting Owls were ranked nationally in multiple categories by the end of the season. As of April 29th they are #7 in team batting average (.398), #8 in strikeouts (121), #16 in on base percentage (.451), and #18 in triples (20). Sophomore,
Brooke Hasegawa is currently ranked #13 in the nation for slugging percentage (.971) and #14 for batting average (.505). She lead the team in multiple other categories including hits (53), doubles (18), home runs (9), and on base percentage (.538). She has etched herself into the Harford history books many times after two outstanding years with the program.
Sophomore
Tonya Marks ends her career at Harford with 77 career RBI's and 76 career runs, good enough to put her in the top three of the program record book for each category. Sophomore
Caroline Hilyard will enter the record books with her 4.43 career ERA, 92 strikeouts, and 14 career wins. Sophomore
Cassidy Vance and Freshman
Alayna LeVee will see their names in the record books as well with their single-season batting averages (.461 and .449).
The Fighting Owls produced their second consecutive winning season under head coach
Dan Ashby, and will look to rebuild for another strong season in 2025.
