Historic Season Ends at Home

BEL AIR, MD - Harford Baseball was eliminated from the postseason after losing Game 4 of the Region 20 Tournament to the Monroe College Mustangs. Harford had gone 6-0 in the regular season against the Mustangs prior to the tournament. The Fighting Owls won Game 2 against Potomac State to eliminate the Catamounts, and fell to Monroe in Game 3the next day after playing through rainy conditions at home. Game 4 was scheduled to begin immediately after Game 3 on Saturday, but weather delayed the game to two days later. Monroe would return to Bel Air on Monday and seal the Region Championship, moving on to the District Tournament. 

The Fighting Owls produced an outstanding offense this season that landed them in the Top 10 of eight Division I national categories:

145 Doubles (4th overall)
88 Homeruns (7th overall)
500 Runs Batted In (8th overall)
247 Extra Base Hits (5th overall)
190 Stolen Bases (5th overall)
.471 On Base Percentage (9th overall)
.620 Slugging Percentage (5th overall)

The Harford pitching staff accumulated a 1.28 WHIP (7th overall), 10 shutouts (7th overall), and a .221 Batting Average Against (4th overall). 

Joey Pagano would lead the Harford offensive this season batting .450 with 149 At Bats. He would score 59 Runs on 67 Hits, driving in 35 RBI. Alec Welshans homered 15 times this year, and drove in 55 RBI while batting .414 on the season with a .895 Slugging percentage. Jesse Jaconski ended the year batting .407 with 145 At Bats, scoring 56 Runs on 59 Hits. He would also accumulate 55 RBI on the season. Robert Phelps bagged 31 stolen bases on 34 attempts while batting .373. Rueben Livingston ended the year with 13 home runs, and a .723 slugging percentage with 47 RBI.

Joey Colucci would earn a 1.86 ERA on the mound this season and a .92 WHIP on 63 Innings Pitched. He accumulated 83 Strikeouts, and just18 walks. Joe Rauscher finished the year with a 3.20 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP through 64.2 Innings Pitched, racking up 62 Strikeouts and 19 walks.

The Fighting Owls end their season at 46-11, their third consecutive season with 35 wins or more.
