BEL AIR, MD — Harford Community College women's soccer put on a dominant display last night, defeating Prince George's Community College 7–0 at home. The Fighting Owls controlled possession from start to finish, showcasing a balanced attack and airtight defense in the shutout win.
Harford (2-1) wasted little time getting on the board, with
Lila Vincenti (Havre de Grace) opening the scoring in the 4th minute off an assist from
Noelle Buckman (Homeschool). Just three minutes later,
Sydney Stoneback (North Harford) doubled the lead, giving the Fighting Owls a quick 2–0 cushion.
Harford continued to generate chances throughout the first half, outshooting Prince George's 15–6, and holding a 2–0 advantage heading into the break.
The Fighting Owls exploded offensively in the second half.
Aubrey Heise (North Harford) scored twice in less than a minute in the 52nd, first off a setup from Vincenti, then again moments later for a commanding 4–0 lead.
Macy Forest (Perryville) added another in the 59th minute, assisted by
Emily Ovelman (Homeschool) to extend the lead to 5–0.
The scoring surge continued late, as Vincenti tallied her second goal of the match in the 84th minute, assisted by goalkeeper
Kaylee Norstrand (Bel Air), before
Sage Cole (Perryville) capped off the night with Harford's seventh goal in the 88th minute, courtesy of another Vincenti assist.
Harford's defense stifled Prince George's all evening, limiting the visitors to just four shots on goal. Goalkeepers
Emma Zegers (Bel Air) and Norstrand combined for the clean sheet, each making two saves.
The Fighting Owls return to action on Tuesday, as they host Miami Dade College. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
