Josh Houser

Joshua Houser was named head coach of the Harford baseball program on June 2, 2020.

Prior to the 2020 spring season, Houser ('17) was pinned as the interim head coach of the Fighting Owls. During this span, he led Harford to a 9-4 record before NJCAA cancelled the remainder of the spring sports season on March 16 due to COVID-19.

Houser was brought to Harford in 2019 to serve as an assistant coach. Alongside interim head coach RJ Heinlen, the Fighting Owls finished with a 46-9 overall record and a 22-1 mark against Maryland JUCO Conference foes. The Fighting Owls caught fire midway through the year, rattling off 32-straight victories from March 16 to April 27. As a result, Harford laid claim to its fourth conference title in five years and fourth straight Region XX championship.

Seven members of the 2019 Fighting Owls squad were named to the All-Conference team and five to the All-Region XX side. Highlighting the bunch was sophomore pitcher Braeden Fausnaught, who became the 11th Fighting Owl in program history to earn All-American honors.

Houser is no stranger to Harford fans, having pitched for the Fighting Owls in 2015 and 2016. During his time in Bel Air, Harford would capture two conference titles, a Region XX DI crown (2016) and the schools first Eastern District Championship (2016) to earn the Fighting Owls their only trip to the NJCAA DI World Series.

After Harford, Houser finished out his playing career at Kutztown University, where he'd make 18 appearances for the Bears in two years.
