Maguire enters his third year as a baseball assistant coach after two extremely successful campaigns.
Maguire is in charge of all of the strength and conditioning work for the baseball team, where he helped the 2014 Region XX Champions get in the best shape of their lives prior to the championship run. He coaches third base and works with the outfielders, hitters and baserunners for the Fighting Owls.
Maguire starred at North Harford High School before playing JUCO baseball at Delaware Tech for head coach Curtis Brock. He then continued his playing career at St. Andrews University, an NAIA school in North Carolina.
Maguire's coaching record prior to Harford was with a pair of successful high school programs. He was an assistant at The Park School during their Maryland State Title season and he also coached at his alma mater North Harford the year they were runner's up to the state championship.
Maguire coached Ben Brewster at Park, who later played college ball at Maryland and was drafted in the 2014 MLB Draft. At NH, he coached Kevin Mooney (UMD's closer during the 2014 NCAA Super Regionals run), Cody Brittain, who he coached here at Harford before he went on to NCAA DI's USC-Upstate and UAlbany's Ryan Stinar.
Maguire is a Certified Personal Trainer and he also works at the Harford Sports Performance Center. He has worked various college baseball camps throughout the year.
