Dr. Scott Walton was named the head coach of the Harford men's and women's cross country teams on July 12, 2019.
Under his guidance, freshman runner Jameson O'Donald landed a spot on the All-Region XX Division I side during the 2019 season.

Walton made a significant impact in a pair of Baltimore Based schools before heading to Harford. His first stop, Roland Park (2006-09), saw members of Walton's teams move on to several Power 5 programs such as Virginia, UNC and Vanderbilt. He would also received a USATF Level One Certification while with the program. Walton also helped lead cross country as well as track and field at Bryn Mawr High School from 2004 to 2006. In his final season, the "Mawrtians" outdoor track team finished ranked No. 7 in the state of Maryland.
A dual major at Washington College, Walton graduated with bachelor's degrees in Economics and Business Management in 2003. He later received his master's in Management from Loyola College (2007) before earning a doctorate from Wilmington University in 2017.
