Jason Muffoletto

Now in his 16th overall season at Harford, Fighting Owls head coach Jason Muffoletto has guided both the men's and women's soccer programs to new levels of success.

Muffoletto has been the women's head coach since the 2004 season, and he took over as the head coach of the men's program in 2010. During that time, he has won seven Md Juco titles, five Region 20 Championships, four District Championships, and mentored a total of 11 NJCAA All-Americans.

In 2018, Muffoletto lead the Fighting Owl women to their fifth straight Region 20 title. Under his guidance, sophomore striker Rachel Bohli became an All-American and broke Harford's career goals (49) and points (111) record, while second year midfielder Kasie Lambert set the new career best in assists with 35.

In his 14th season at the helm, Muffoletto would lead the women's soccer team to 19 wins during their 2017 campaign, tying the single season record he set back in back in 2009. The team would outscore opponents to 126-6 during the regular season and lose just once during that span.

This trend would carry over to the postseason as the ladies in blue would outscore Hagerstown and Essex 23-1 en route to Muffoletto's fourth consecutive Region 20 title. Muffoletto would add another District Championship to his collection after defeating #11 Cape Fear, earning a bid to NJCAA National Tournament. The Fighting Owls defeated #14 Cloud City 2-0 in the first round of the tournament before falling to #2 Tyler 2-1 in overtime in round two.

Four members of the team received All-Region honors, with Alecia Rotunno and Alexandria Adams also being tabbed as All-Americans.

Muffoletto's 8th season as the head coach of the Harford men's soccer team saw them finish with 12 wins and .684 winning percentage, both of which rank as the second best in the Fighting Owls' men's soccer program modern era. Under his watch five Fighting Owls would achieve All-Region status, while sophomore midfielder Antonio Savi also earned Second Team All-American Honors.

The 2016 season saw a historic achievement as the men's team defeated Essex for the first time since 2012. Meanwhile the women's team went 13-3, winning the Region 20 title for the third consecutive season.

In 2015, the men's soccer team secured their sixth consecutive winning season with a 10-6-2 record including a victory against Hagerstown in the Region 20 semifinals.

The 2014 women's squad earned the trifecta of titles, finishing with at 15-4-0 record en route to the conference, region and district titles while reaching the NJCAA National Tournament for the fourth time in his career.8065

In 2013, Muffoletto earned his 100th win as the women’s head coach in the first match of the season while leading the team to a 12-4-0 record. Overall as the leader of the women's squad, he has compiled a 126-52-12 record.

From 2006-11, the Fighting Owls earned six-straight berths into the Region XX Championship Game, winning the title and advancing to the NJCAA National Tournament in 2011, 2009 and 2006.

In 2011, he led the women's squad to a fourth-place finish at the NJCAA Tournament, its highest finish in school history. He has also mentored an NJCAA All-American in four of the last six seasons, including goalkeeper Audrey Baldwin in 2011, one of the best student-athletes in Harford history.

In 2010, he led the women's squad to a 15-1-1 record while tutoring First-Team All-American Erin Lynn. Lynn posted a school record 102 career points under Muffoletto's watchful eye. In 2009, he helped Lynn's classmate Beth Lambros earn First-Team All-American honors after a single-season school-record 30 goals and 73 points. She finished her career with 101 career points.

In just his second season as the men’s coach, Muffoletto rewrote the history books. The 2011 Fighting Owl men’s squad set numerous program records, including winning their first MD JUCO Conference Title with an 11-0-1 conference mark. The '11 squad earned a national ranking for the first time ever, while finishing with a 14-4-1 mark, the best in school history. The team reached the Region XX Championships for the first time, falling 3-2 to NJCAA participant Southern Maryland in the 89th minute.

In 2012, the Harford men's team again came just two minutes away from its first Region XX Championship, falling 2-1 to CCBC Essex in the 89th minute. That year's team earned 11 wins and in 2013, the men won 10 games, marking four times in all four years that Muffoletto guided the men to double-digit wins.

Muffoletto led the men’s team to the semifinals of the Region XX Tournament in his first year at the helm and a then-program-best 11-7-1 campaign.

In 2009, the Harford women won their second Region XX Championship, defeating Anne Arundel in penalty kicks, 3-2. After defeating Cape Fear, 4-0 in the District Finals, the Fighting Owls were off to their second NJCAA Tournament in four years. Harford finished fifth that season, defeating No. 5 Schoolcraft and No. 2 Polk State as the No. 8 seed in the eight-team field.

In 2006, Muffoletto took the women's team to its first national tourney. After a pair of three-win campaigns to start his career, Muffoletto pieced together a 16-4-0 campaign that included a victory over Anne Arundel in the Region XX Championships.

As a player, Muffoletto trained at the professional level with Brazilian clubs Remo and Paysandu and was a four-year member of the Olympic Development Program as an amateur, during which he was an Adidas Golden Glove award-winner.

The former goalie also trains goalkeepers year-round in his prestigious goalie camp.
