Jason Rims joined the Harford men's soccer coaching staff in August 2026, bringing more than 30 years of coaching experience to the Fighting Owls.
Rims was an assistant coach at CCBC Essex from 2011-2018. During his eight seasons with the Knights, he helped lead the program to three Maryland JUCO championships, eight regional championships and four NJCAA National Tournament appearances.
Rims has also spent the past three years coaching with Coppermine Soccer Club's MLS NEXT and MLS Academy teams at the U-17 and U-19 levels. In addition to developing players on the field, Rims works to assist players with the college transition and recruiting process, helping them navigate opportunities to continue their playing careers at the collegiate level.
Prior to joining CCBC Essex, Rims spent eight seasons at Loch Raven High School (2004-2011). He served one season as the head boys junior varsity coach before spending seven seasons as a varsity assistant. During his tenure, Loch Raven made three Baltimore County Championship appearances, won three regional titles and advanced to three state finals, capturing the 2009 state championship.
Rims also served as the head coach of the Men's Allied Soccer Club from 1998-2006. His teams won three Maryland Major Division I championships and a Division II championship in 1998. The club also captured 10 U.S. Open and U.S. Amateur Maryland State titles, advanced to seven Region I finals and made two national final appearances. Rims' teams also made two appearances in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
Earlier in his coaching career, Rims coached Bethesda Girls Soccer from 1993-1997, leading the program to two state championships in three appearances.
He holds a USSF C License, as well as NSCAA Regional Goalkeeping and Regional Youth Licenses.
Rims attended Essex Community College (now CCBC Essex) before continuing his education at Towson University, then known as Towson State University. He later graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Healthcare Management.
