James Thomas

James Thomas enters his third year as the Fighting Owls assistant women's basketball coach.

In the last two years as an assistant coach at Harford under head coach Mike Seney, he helped get the program to consecutive NJCAA National appearances and back-to-back Md Juco Championships.
 
Thomas has a coaching history that began in 1985 that started in the very community where he was raised in Turner Station under the guidance and advisement of Jamie Wilcox, Donald Beasley, Tim Burman, Ashwin Ferguson, Mel Smith and Jerome Hall a high school teammate at Dundalk High School, Class of 1987. He would later coach at this very high school, coaching boys and girls. He has coached at Towson High School, Carver Art Technology, Dr. Samuel L. Banks and New Town High School. He also coached the AAU MD Lady Tigers.

Coach Thomas is no stranger to women's basketball in the Md Juco Conference. In his career he has earned five Md Juco Championship rings which includes three Division I Region 20 Championships and two Division II Regional Championships. He was also an assistant coach at CCBC Dundalk as well as an assistant coach for the Panthers of Baltimore City.

In 2012-13 Coach Thomas was inducted into the Chesapeake Athletics Hall of Fame with the Lady Skipjacks Women’s Basketball Team and was given the honor of delivering the induction speech.

While giving his time and dedication to being an assistant coach Harford, Thomas works as a Supervisor of the Grounds Department at Morgan State University.
