Addie Kalama was named the Head Coach of the Harford women's lacrosse program on October 30, 2023. She inherits a program that won back-to-back National Championships in 2021 and 2022, and attended the National Tournament in 2023.
Kalama attended Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania where she was a member of the women's lacrosse team for four years. She received her undergraduate degree in accounting after three years, and continued her education at Shippensburg, receiving her Master's degree in Business Administration in May 2023.
While at Shippensburg, Kalama was instrumental in bringing The Hidden Opponent (THO), a national mental health organization devoted mental health awareness for collegiate athletes, to campus. She served as the Founder and President of THO at Shippensburg, and also served as a Campus Captain for the national organization. Kalama was also a member of Tau Kappa, an athletic honors sorority, and was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, a co-ed business fraternity where she held multiple leadership positions. During her time at Shippensburg, Kalama also worked on campus in the Athletics Department, and held a graduate assistant position within the John L. Grove College of Business.
Over the last five years, Kalama has coached for the North Eastern Maryland Select (NEMS) club lacrosse organization. She was recently named as Head Coach for the NEMS 2028 team. Previously, she was a member of the NEMS 2019 team.
Kalama is a 2019 graduate of Bel Air High School where she played on both the women's lacrosse and soccer teams and was part of the 2017 state championship lacrosse team. She has a true passion for coaching, which comes in part for wanting to give back to the sport that has given her so much. She hopes to inspire young athletes and help them grow as both players and individuals.
Kalama currently resides in Bel Air and is employed at KPMG in Baltimore, where she works in their audit division. Her brother, Carson Kalama, is an assistant men's lacrosse coach at Harford Community College.
