Rocco Geppi was named Coordinator of Athletic Communications in November 2024.
He is an accomplished professional in the field of athletic communications, with a career that spans over a decade in collegiate sports. He began his journey in 2009 as the public address announcer for CCBC Essex, where he quickly developed a passion for sports information and game day operations. By 2013, Geppi had transitioned into sports information at CCBC.
In 2015, he was hired as a full-time Athletic Operations Assistant at CCBC Essex, where his contributions to the department were transformative. Known for his elite performance across all facets of sports information, game day operations, and media management, he consistently went above and beyond expectations. Among his standout achievements were managing the establishment of live streaming at all three CCBC athletic campuses, the creation and management of the PrestoSports website, including its initial launch and redesign, and the development of an annual internship program through partnerships with Towson University’s Sport Management department, and other colleges and universities in the region that provided valuable hands-on experience to aspiring sports professionals.
Geppi’s passion for student-athletes and commitment to their success are at the core of his work. He managed a range of duties from writing copy and conducting interviews for print and digital media to producing a podcast that showcased the voice of CCBC Essex Athletics. His work in live streaming games and editing highlight reels played a key role in promoting student-athletes and connecting families and fans worldwide. Geppi’s collaborative, solution-oriented approach and exceptional organizational skills make him a trusted leader among his peers. He also served as Director of Sports Information and Marketing for the Maryland Juco Athletic Conference (August 2016-May 2022) and was the inaugural NJCAA Region 20 Sports Information Director (August 2021-May 2022).
His professional philosophy is rooted in a team-oriented, mission-driven mindset. Geppi is known for his proactive, energetic approach, his attention to detail, and his ability to think outside the box. He has a passion for supporting student-athletes and an ability to execute complex projects with precision.
Geppi has a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from University of Maryland and is a Certified Public Address Announcer through the National Association of Sports Public Address Announcers.
