Harford Men's Basketball Connects for 16 3-Pointers but Falls to Prince George's, 83-73, in Regular Season Finale

LARGO, Md.—The Harford men's basketball team finished the regular season on Saturday as it fell to Prince George's on the road by a score of 83-73.  The game was the third straight on the road for the Fighting Owls (9-17, 4-12 MDJUCO), who finish the season in 15th place in the conferece.  No. 15 Harford will travel to No. 2 Allegany on Tuesday, Feb. 17 for the play-in round of the MDJUCO tournament.

 

Freshman Lionel Perkins (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) led Harford with 21 points and six rebounds on 8-for-13 shooting from the field, 4-for-8 from long-range, while freshman Kevin Mead (Fawn Grove, Pa./Kennard-Dale) added 17 points for the Owls, shooting 5-for-11 from behind the arc.

 

The Fighting Owls struggled early on, staring down an 18-3 deficit just five minutes into the first half, but came back to trim the Owl (10-14, 8-8 MDJUCO) lead to just two, 33-31 by the half.

 

Harford led by as much as six in the second half, but Prince George's got hot down the stretch on the way to the 83-73 win.

 

The Fighting Owls return to action on Tuesday, Feb. 17 when they travel to face No. 2 Allegany for a 7:00 p.m. MDJUCO play-in game.
