BALTIMORE, Md.—The Harford women's lacrosse team earned its first conference win as it downed MDJUCO conference rival CCBC-Essex, 17-6, on Thursday evening at Essex.
Freshman Nichole Terry (Havre de Grace ,Md./Harford Tech) led the Fighting Owls (2-3, 1-2 MDJUCO) with nine points on the night (7g, 2a), while sophomore Melissa Warczynski (Edgewood, Md./North Harford) added nine points as well with five goals and four assists.
Harford built a substantial, 9-3, lead after one half of play and both teams nearly doubled their scores in the second, with Harford holding an 8-3 advantage over the Knights (0-6) on the way to the 17-6 final score.
The Fighting Owls return to action on Sunday when they host No. 4 Nassau for a 10:00 a.m. game.
