BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford men's basketball team improved to 2-0 with a 77-75 victory over Salem on Wednesday. The Fighting Owls led by as many as 15 points midway through the second half and held on for the close victory as
Adam Fongyen blocked a shot as time expired.
Jada Johnson led for Fighting Owls in double digits with 17 points, while Fongyen recorded his first double-double of the season with 11 markers and 13 rebounds.
Lionel Perkins connected on four triples for 12 points in his first game, and
Jeff Joynes added 11 in the win.
Brandon Selby just missed a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds, while
Digges Bosley played a physical game with eight points and five caroms.
Keegan Harper chipped in with seven points off the bench.
The Fighting Owls got into foul trouble late in the game, allowing the Oaks to make a come back attempt. Salem out shot Harford at the line 20-for-34 to 10-for-21.
The Fighting Owls travel to face Atlantic Cape on Saturday at 4 p.m.
