BEL AIR, Md.—The Harford women's lacrosse sophomores shined on Wednesday, accounting for half of the Fighting Owls' (7-5, 4-4 MDJUCO) goals and 12 of 16 assists, during Harford's 20-6 rout of Howard on sophomore day at Harford Stadium.

Sophomore Melissa Warczynski (Street, Md./North Harford) led Harford with eight points (5g, 3a) on the day, finishing the regular season with at least two goals in all 12 games, while sophomore Nicole Miller (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) tied her season-high of three points with three assists.

Kelsey Erdman and Bridget Dempsey paced the Dragons (4-8, 2-6 MDJUCO), adding two goals each for Howard.

Harford wasted no time, taking just 42 seconds to score its first goal, a feed from freshman Jaclyn Hall (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) to freshman Holly Webb (Abingdon, Md./John Carroll).  The Owls would build a 6-0 lead just over five minutes into the first half and Howard wouldn't get on the board until three minutes later when Dempsey notched an unassisted tally with 21:49 remaining.

Harford would increase its advantage to nine goals by halftime, 13-4, and would tally seven more while allowing two Howard scores in the second half on the way to the lopsided 20-6 win.

Harford outshot the Dragons, 37-14 and corralled 29 ground balls to Howard's 17 while being nearly perfect with 8 successful clears in nine attempts.  Howard was much closer in draw controls, totaling 12 to Harford's 16, and keeper Pamela Thomas totaled eight saves in 60:00, while Harford freshman Kaitlyn Hall (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) made six stops in 60:00.

The Fighting Owls have concluded the regular season and return to action on Saturday, May 1 when they compete in the semifinals of the Region XX Tournament.  The No. 4-seeded Owls face host No. 1 CCBC-Catonsville at 12:00 p.m., with the winner advancing to Sunday's championship against the winner of the No. 2 Anne Arundel/No. 3 Nassau game.
