Box Score
BEL AIR, Md.—Sophomore Melissa Warczynski (Street, Md./North Harford) tallied a career-high seven goals and tied her career-high of eight points (7g, 1a) to lead the Harford women's lacrosse team to a 19-4 drubbing of Brookdale on Tuesday night at Harford Stadium.
Warczynski also notched a natural hat trick for the Fighting Owls (5-3), scoring three consecutive goals during a 7-0 run in the second half, while Jenni Ulejczyk paced the Jersey Blues (2-4) with two goals on the night.
Harford wasted no time, scoring twice in the first five minutes, both by freshman Yuliya Kolosey (Port Deposit, Md./Perryville), but Brookdale would be competitive to start, holding just a one-goal deficit, 3-2 over 10 minutes into the first.
That would be the closest the Blues came for the remainder of the game as Harford finished the first half with an 8-1 run and took an 11-3 lead into the break. Seven straight goals to start the second gave the Owls an 18-3 advantage, before Ulejczyk added Brookdale's final goal in the final minute off a free position shot. Harford would also add a last-minute goal, with 17 seconds left on the way to the 19-4 win.
The Owls outshot the Blues, 37-20 and grabbed 19 draw controls to Brookdale's six, while totaling 34 ground balls to the Blues' six. In the net, Brookdale held the advantage as Paige Knee totaled 13 saves in 60:00, while freshmen Stefanie Saul (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) and Kaitlyn Hall (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) split time and combined for eight saves, Hall making five in 30:00 and Saul tallying three in 30:00.
