BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford women's soccer team (1-0-0) earned a dominating victory in its season opener on Friday, shutting out Gloucester 7-0 at Harford Stadium. The victory extended the Fighting Owls' home unbeaten streak to 12 games (11-0-1).
Sophomore forward Erin Lynn kick started her campaign with three goals in the victory. She scored the Fighting Owls' first goal of the season in the 15th minute, chipping a rebound into the top left corner. She gave Harford a 3-0 lead just three minutes later with an unassisted rocket passed the goalkeeper. In the second half, Lynn connected on a header off a perfect corner kick from freshman Kristina Rivera for her hat trick.
Freshman forward Andrea Siedlarczyk netted a pair of goals in her Harford debut. Just before halftime, the rookie gave the Fighting Owls a 4-0 lead with a laser passed the keeper after a flawless centering pass from sophomore Lindsay Malpass. In the 83rd minute, Siedlarczyk clipped the ball into the net after a nice helper from sophomore Krissy Czarski. Siedlarczyk also added an assist on the club's final tally, a tapper from All-American Bethany Lampos.
The Fighting Owl defense shared the spotlight with Lynn and Siedlarczyk, holding the Roadrunners without a single shot in the entire game. Freshman goalie Audrey Baldwin earned her first career clean sheet in her first career game without breaking a sweat.
Rookie Amanda Ballard added an assist on the team's first goal for her first career point.
The Fighting Owls return to action at home on Sunday against Morris at 2 p.m.
Sophomore defender Alexa Carlevaro's beautiful header off a perfect corner kick from Rivera was sandwiched between Lynn's first two tallies.
