Women's Soccer Earns Fifth Shutout Win, 3-0

BRYN MAWR, Pa. - The Harford women's soccer team (7-0-0, 2-0-0) scored another shutout victory on Thursday, a 3-0 road victory over Harcum. The Fighting Owls scored in the first minute, and Audrey Baldwin and the defense claimed their fifth shutout, allowing just one shot on goal.

Freshman Kristina Rivera went streaking in front of the net and was rewarded with her first career goal just 58 seconds into the contest. Classmate Amanda Ballard sent a cross in front to Rivera, and that is all the Fighting Owls would need.

Even the rainy conditions couldn't slow down the nation's sixth-leading scorer. Sophomore Erin Lynn netted her 11th goal of the season after Meredith Greives sent a long bal into the box in the ninth minute. Lynn's shot slipped through the keepers hand and Harford led 2-0 at the break.

Ballard tallied her third goal of the year and earned a three-point afternoon in the 50th minute. Jenna Quaranta's initial shot attempt was saved, but Ballard's hard finish found the back of the net.

Baldwin stopped the lone shot she faced, earning her fifth career shutout in the physical game.

Harford returns home, where it owns a 15 match unbeaten streak (14-0-1), to face Prince George's on Sept. 21 at 4 p.m.
