BEL AIR, Md. - The Harford men's basketball team was playing its final doubleheader in the Susquehanna Center. which is set to begin a renovation in a few months. The Fighting Owls have made it a habit of playing close games in the building, and Saturday was no different.
However, this time, the Fighting Owls came out on the short end of a 77-73 decision with Baltimore City on Saturday. Both
Adam Fongyen and
Lionel Perkins had potential game-winning 3-pointers rim out in the final seconds of the loss.
Perkins finished the contest with 23 points, eight rebounds and four steals, while Fongyen added nine points and a team-best nine rebounds off the bench.
Jada Johnson and
Jeff Joynes had 17 and 10 points, respectively, for the Fighting Owls, who trailed by 12 points early in the second half.
Harford had won five games at home while the visitors had a chance to win or tie at the buzzer. The Fighting Owls fell to 6-2 in one possession games this year.
Harford returns to the court on Wednesday for the final home game of the season, and of the Susquehanna Center, at 7 p.m. Sophomore Night ceremonies will begin at 6:50 p.m.
