BALTIMORE - The Harford women's soccer team (11-1-0, 7-1-0 MD JUCO) clinched a share of the 2011 MD JUCO Championship with a 4-0 victory over CCBC-Catonsville on Tuesday.
The Fighting Owls will share the crown with MC-Rockville, as both teams finish the conference slate with 7-1-0 records (21 points). Harford defeated Rockville in overtime in their lone head-to-head match, as Harford's lone loss was to Anne Arundel. The Fighting Owls championshipwas the first since 2009, when the same two teams split the crown with 7-1-0 records.
Sophomore
Kristina Rivera scored the first to goals for the Fighting Owls and collected an assist on the third.
Ashley Tauber netted her first career goal, while
Lorianne Hill scored the final tally for Harford.
Freshman
Rachel Keeley adde a pair of assists, while Hill chipped in with a helper, as well.
Erica Coley assisted on the team's first goal.
Goalies
Audrey Baldwin and
Maggie Shifflett each made a save in their respetive half of action. Baldwin earned the win, her 25th of her amazing career.
The Fighting Owls final home match is Thursday against Mercer at 4 p.m. Prior to the contest the Fighting Owls will honor the sophomore class.
